| Aspect | Matigen® | hADM (from human skin) | pADM (from porcine skin) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Biocompatibility | High biocompatibility with preserved extracellular matrix; designed to minimize immune response | Very high, closely resembles human tissue | Good, but slightly lower than human |
| Immune Risk | Very low; processed to remove cells, fats, viruses, and endotoxins. | Low (allograft) | Slightly higher (xenograft), but reduced with decellularization |
| Neovascularization / Integration | Rapid engraftment and stable integration; slower degradation than other ADMs | Excellent, new tissue integrates quickly | Good, though some studies report slower integration |
| Mechanical Strength | Available in multiple thicknesses (3–4 mm), maintains durability in collagenase test | Moderate to high, depending on model/thickness | Often slightly stronger, suitable for oral/nasal augmentation |
| Source / Sustainability | Manufactured from porcine dermis with standardized processing | Limited (requires human donation) | Abundant, easily reproducible |
| Cost | Moderately priced; generally lower than hADM but higher than basic pADM | Higher (due to scarcity and higher processing cost) | Lower / more accessible Retail price 600 – 800 THB/Unit |
| Patient Acceptance | Accepted in most regions; some cultural/religious restrictions due to porcine origin | Some patients may have ethical concerns about human use | Some patients (especially Muslim/Jewish) may refuse due to porcine origin |
| Typical Applications | Rhinoplasty (tip/saddle support), reconstructive surgery, soft-tissue augmentation | Breast reconstruction, burn surgery, rhinoplasty | Periodontal graft, dental implant soft-tissue augmentation |
